8. Sharing happiness

I found out that I got promoted at work last week, with the highest possible rating (i’ve never gotten this rating in 9 years of my career, only 2% of entire staff gets it each year).

All I wanted to do after hearing this, was to indulge in a long hug. I was really really happy and just wanted a hug. I was alone at home and had to wait for 2 days until I could hug my best friend and godson.

I’m not lonely by any definition, but this took me back to a Chris McCandless quote in ‘Into the Wild’. That, Happiness is only real when shared.
